About Us

Aloha ~ I'm Steve George, founder of Adoptive Threads.

As a Vietnamese adoptee, I've always been drawn to the power of connection, community, and shared stories. Adoptive Threads was created to celebrate the adoptee experience, honor the many paths that shape our identities, and support organizations making a difference in the lives of children around the world.

My journey began towards the end of the Vietnam War. I was born in Cần Thơ, Vietnam and spent my earliest months at Providence Orphanage and later Hy Vọng Orphanage in Saigon. At five months old, I was adopted into a loving family in Laramie, Wyoming, where I was raised alongside my two sisters.

Over the years, I have returned to Vietnam, revisited the orphanages where my story began, and reflected on the experiences that have shaped my life. Along the way, I've met adoptees from all backgrounds and discovered a common truth: while every adoptee's journey is unique, many of us share questions of identity, belonging, loss, resilience, and connection.

Adoptive Threads is more than an apparel brand. It's a way to spark conversations, celebrate adoptee voices, and remind one another that there is no single right way to be adopted. Whether you're searching for answers, reconnecting with your roots, embracing your adoptive family, or simply living your story, your journey is valid.

We're also committed to giving back. A portion of proceeds supports organizations that serve adoptees, orphaned children, and vulnerable communities. By wearing Adoptive Threads, you're helping raise awareness, build connections, and provide support where it's needed most.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
