If you've ever worn one of our Adoptive Threads tees, you're already part of a story bigger than just a shirt—you're part of a movement. A movement about roots, identity, and belonging. And part of that story took shape in a small office tucked into the vibrant streets of Seoul, South Korea, where we first connected with the incredible folks at G.O.A.’L (Global Overseas Adoptees’ Link).
Back in 2023, while laying the foundation for what Adoptive Threads would become, we spent time with G.O.A.’L — a nonprofit that’s been showing up for Korean adoptees for decades. And when I say “showing up,” I mean with real, tangible help: from birth family searches and dual citizenship support, to language classes, cultural programs, and most importantly—a space where adoptees from all over the world can feel like they belong.
💡 Fun fact: G.O.A.’L is often the first stop for adoptees making their way back to Korea. Think of it as a warm hug of welcome when you land halfway across the world.
Fast-forward to 2025, I had the chance to meet online with Louise Lindberg, G.O.A.’L’s Secretary General. Louise is a Korean adoptee raised in Sweden, and let me tell you—she’s the kind of person who walks the walk and makes you feel at home. She’s got the kind of heart that beats for community, healing, and making things better for those of us who are trying to piece together our stories.
As a Vietnamese adoptee on my own journey of reconnection, it felt like meeting a kindred spirit. Louise and the entire G.O.A.’L team are doing the kind of work that changes lives—and they’re doing it with heart, hustle, and a lot of humanity.
At Adoptive Threads, this is what we’re all about—wearing your story proudly, connecting through shared experiences, and giving back to those doing the real, gritty, beautiful work of support and advocacy. That’s why we’re proud to support G.O.A.’L and spotlight the impact they’re making every single day.
Stay connected, wear your story, and support meaningful change.
